Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a form of energy psychology that was created by Gary Craig.  The fundamental belief in energy psychology is that our bodies are made up of energy pathways that affect our physical and mental health.  Furthermore, it is believed that these pathways can be influenced by the stimulation of certain points on the body (the acupuncture points of Chinese Medicine, in the case of EFT).  When using EFT, I teach people to massage a short series of energy points on their faces and hands while guiding them through certain mental activities.  Most people experience a deep sense of relaxation while participating in an EFT session.  I have found that EFT can be a useful way to work with fears, worries, phobias, anxiety and trauma.  Once I have taught EFT to clients, they are able to use it on their own between sessions.
